How to Reduce Overlap When Spraying a Field

Overlap starts with the setup

Before you lay out spray passes, confirm the width of the active boom sections. If the guidance line spacing is based on a wider boom than you're actually using, you can leave strips. Set it too narrow and you may cover the same ground again. Check the nozzle setup and application settings against the product label and your local requirements.

Make the first pass count

Choose an AB line that fits the main direction of the field. Use the display as one reference while watching the boom, crop, and field edge. If the position jumps unexpectedly, slow down or pause and check what's happening. The app can help you follow a path, but it doesn't operate the spray valves or guarantee even application.

Check before you finish

After a couple of passes, look for missed or repeated coverage rather than trusting the map alone. If position drift is larger than your acceptable margin, you may need better positioning hardware or corrections for that job. Save the operation with the right field and equipment selected so you can revisit what you did. A few minutes of checking up front can save a frustrating second trip.
